This web site recounts the story of GWR 5637 Steam Locomotive. It includes the known operational working of 5637 in the Welsh valleys, the time at Barry scrapyard and subsequent rescue by a group of dedicated Swindon & Cricklade Railway enthusiasts who restored 5637 to full working condition.
The 5637 Steam Locomotive is now permanently back home at the Swindon & Cricklade Railway awaiting its 10 yearly Heavy General Overhaul, the start of which is delayed by the Covid-19 Pandemic.
